Fall Begins Now

The team at Converge Collaborative is emerging from an active summer season and moving swiftly into a busy fall. As we celebrate the new equinox, we want to share some highlights from our worker-owners summer.

From expanding our connection to the ecosystem of cooperatives and sustainable economies to opening new spaces for creatives and community, all of our summer adventures have reinforced our belief that we can start building the world we want to see right now from wherever we are with the help of community.

What’s Happening?

Sage and Silver Studios

In early September newest worker-owner Amayah Harrison recently opened Sage and Silver Studios in Sacramento, CA a new community art space offering studio rentals, podcasting and event space. Cascadia Cooperative Conference

In late August, the Northwest Cooperative Development Center hosted The Cascadia Cooperative Conference its first ever cooperative conference event. Worker-owner Michelle McCrary was in attendance for all two days of the conference. On Monday she attended two sessions, Evicting our digital landlords: How we liberate our tech and build sustainable, democratically-run software in the morning and in the afternoon Building a Self-organizing Cascadian Cooperative Network of Networks: A Multi-Track Workshop. On Tuesday, the last day of the conference, she went to the Cooperative Development for Microenterprises session in the morning.

The conference was an amazing way to connect with a massive range of fellow worker-owners who represented the broad range of cooperatives in operation across the Pacific Northwest. Converge Collaborative will definitely be back next year.

NoBawC Job Fair

Converge Collaborative also tabled at the NoBawC Job Fair in July. Worker-owners Amy Yoshitsu, Louis Bryant, and Amayah Harrison represented the cooperative and shared more about our mission and gave away some cool tote bags with the hundreds of attendees.

yəhaw̓ Rematriation Celebration

Back in our 2024 Winter Solstice newsletter, worker-owner Michelle McCrary shared the volunteer work she’s been doing for the last few years with the **yəhaw̓ Indigenous Creatives Collective.** This past July the collective held its first Rematriation Celebration an outdoor event to celebrate and raise funds for the vital community work yəhaw̓ provides.
